Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm is a 500-hectare estate in Ethiopia’s Guji zone, owned and operated by Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family since 2012.
Located in the Shakiso district between the villages of Taro and Sewana, the farm sits deep in the Oromia region of East Guji, a renowned area for expressive Ethiopian coffees.
The estate employs 25 full-time staff and up to 300 seasonal workers, offering higher wages, free transportation, and community support initiatives including school and infrastructure development. Coffee is grown under natural shade from acacia and indigenous trees, with on-site nurseries and composting used to promote sustainable farming.
Ismael’s hands-on approach extends through harvesting and processing.
This lot is natural-processed, dried with the fruit intact to enhance sweetness, complexity, and vibrant cup character.
